Crystal Bay in Nusa Penida is one of the best spots for snorkeling and scuba diving in Bali. This site is well-known for its clear sea water, even a coin can be seen clearly at a depth of 5 meters. And because of the crystal clear water, this place was finally named Crystal Bay.
For you guys who like snorkeling or diving activities, Crystal Bay is a perfect place to visit. There are many different kinds of underwater life such as Coral Reefs, Trumpet Fish, Angel Fish, Sweet Lips, Tuna, Moorish Idols, and many more. Because I am not a professional diver, I don’t know how the behavior of fish in other waters. But one thing that I know for sure, the fish in Crystal Bay waters are very friendly to divers.
Crystal Bay Beach
Besides diving and snorkeling, Crystal Bay also has a beach that can be said to be one of the best in Bali. The beach has a vast expanse of sand with a coastline up to 1 kilometer and surrounded by small atoll clusters and green hills, which will complete the view. Perfect place for any parents who travel around with their kids, they can have some fun with their kids here.
Crystal Bay Beach is also one of the few perfect places to enjoy the sunset in Bali. One reason is the beach faces west, right to the direction of the sunset. You can sit and relax by the beach, enjoy the beautiful sunset views while having a few cans of cold beer. Don’t forget to take some pictures so you won’t lose that precious moment 🙂
How to get to Crystal Bay
To get to Crystal Bay Beach, you have to cross from Bali Main-Island to Nusa Penida using public sea transportation. You can take a ferry boat from Padang Bay Harbour. For those of you who bring a vehicle, you should cross from here. The fare starts from IDR 31k /person, IDR 50k /motorbikes, and IDR 295k for Minibus. FYI, You can use the currency converter in the sidebar to convert the estimated costs into USD.
If you don’t bring any vehicle and want to arrive faster, then you can use a Fast Boat from the Seaport of Sanur. Fares for crossing using Fast Boat are range from IDR 90k to IDR 110k /pax.
Otherwise, you can use a charter boat or cruise ship such as Bali Bounty Cruises, Bali Waka Sailing, etc. With more expensive fare of course 😀
And one more thing, for you guys who come with the aim of diving or snorkeling. It would be great if you were accompanied by a certified and licensed local instructor/guide.
